Dr. Bowleg, an Androsian native, hails from Mastic Point, North Andros, son of the late Pastor Carlton and Mrs. Mary Bowleg. He has dedicated his life’s work and passion to serving the medical landscape of the country and returns to his home island to give back to the community that made him the man and physician he is today. Nothing would bring him more joy than to take care of his extended family in North and Central Andros.
As a young man, Dr. Bowleg ventured to Nassau, finishing an associate degree in Biochemistry with Credit, from the then College of The Bahamas. He then went on to attain his Bachelor of Science (BSc) with honors in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry (special emphasis in Health Sciences) at Trent University, Canada. He then furthered his education pursuit and obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honors from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad.
His medical career foundation was built with stellar resumes and clinical experience in the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Internal Medicine at the Princess Margaret Hospital from 2009-2016. In 2016, his four-year postgraduate training, with research, awarded him a Doctorate of Medicine in Family Medicine, which he has been diligently practicing until the present.
Dr. Bowleg is caring, attentive, and dedicated to patient advocacy, always ensuring the best possible health outcomes for his patients, encompassing all facets of physical, emotional, and social wellness.
